The New York City Nonprofits Project

Welcome!

The Service Atlas is a database created by the New York City Nonprofits Project in hopes of increasing citizens' access to nonprofit agencies in New York City.

Currently, our database has a listing of over 7,000 direct service providing nonprofit agencies in New York City. With such a large listing, you are sure to find an agency that will meet your needs. You can find everything from day care centers, schools, or health centers to museums, research facilities, shelters, and much more.

You will be able to search for an agency through various search options: name, type, address, zip code, neighborhood, community district, city council district, language, area served, or keywords. In addition, you will be able to retrieve detailed information about agencies such as address and contact information, and also get directions to agencies.

The Service Atlas is periodically updated to ensure that users will be directed to the right types of agencies and in the locations that they need.

We, at the New York City Nonprofits Project, hope that this resource will serve you well.

There are many advantages to having your organization listed on the Service Atlas. It will increase your visibility and therefore:

  • help service users find you
  • enable other nonprofits to find you
  • facilitate nonprofit connections and networks
  • enable potential funders to locate your service and government contractors to identify you as a potential contractee
  • help potential employees identify relevant agencies and give you better choices
